I am not an athletic person. I do a happy dance if the paper I'm throwing away actually ends up in the trashcan. So you can image my surprise when I found out that I have a sporty child. Nick has been running in kid races, just started T-Ball and will have swimming this summer then Soccer in the fall. I might have the coordination of an earthworm but I can cheer with the best of them.
Go Nick!

Disney
Way back in November we took a trip to Disney World. We had the most amazing time. The weather was in the mid 80's, there were no crowds and Nicholas was the perfect age. I always thought that people who went every year or so were crazy...I have now seem the light! I just wish my wallet had the same enthusiasm as I did.
Birthday
This past weekend has been fabulous. And believe me I needed a little fabulous in my life (who doesn't?) My boys and I started off the festivities with dinner out then skating. Watching Nick getting the hang of rolling was hilarious. The big eyed worried faces he made had me giggling. Saturday I woke up early to look for antiques. Not much luck on that front. However, it makes my heart happy when it's warm out and I see yard sale signs. We ended the weekend with fishing and cake. And Nick caught his first fish! He had no problem holding his prize. (For the record gross!) Although, on the way home he did complain about the fishy smell on his hands. This year is the first year I actually feel older. I have aches in places I never knew existed.

Weekend Fun
Saturday I was able to spend a few hours with my mom and go to a gigantic flea market. I saw these Pyrex Refrigerator Dishes and the man was asking 6 dollars for it. At first I thought he meant a piece but he said the whole set!! They are faded but I have been looking for a set and I'm exited to use them. I also found juice glasses and a pitcher set for 2 dollars. And a table runner for Christmas.
We had two parties this weekend (Yes that's me chasing Nick in a bumper car)
And Sunday evening we were invited to a private party at a local Moon Bounce place to help decorate the party room. Nick and I had fun making giant hand flowers. I even managed to get some Christmas presents finished (I'll show you them soon:)

Terrarium
For our family home evening this week we talked about the things God created. I saw how to build a terrarium in a magazine and decided to give it a try. I found this tall glass vase at the thrift store for two dollars and the cute bunny in my cupboard both worked nicely.
Here's how to build your own.
You need:
- Gravel or small stone
- Clear container
- Activated charcoal (the kind for aquarium filters)
- Paper (for a funnel)
- Fresh potting soil
- Small succulent plants
- Ceramic figurine
Step 1- Add gravel as first layer of drainage system. Carefully spread out a 1 1/2" layer of activated charcoal over gravel.
Step 2- Using the paper as a funnel, add a layer of potting soil. Choose small plants like succulents. (Cacti and Jade I used Aloe)
Step 3- Add 3- 4 ounces of water to get started. Add stones as a pathway and a ceramic figurine.

That's my boy!
Today I stopped by a flea market I found a couple of great things and only spent a dollar! Yippy me! Hubby will be proud.
(This is for the house)
(Something for Hubby's desk at work.)
Speaking of proud moments.... I told my son that he could pick one small item for under a dollar. I figured that he would find some small toy instead he found this.
He went up to the man selling it and asked how much it was. The nice man smiled and said "For you it will cost a high five." So he high fives the man and tucked his treasure in his shirt pocket. When we got home I looked it up and found it selling for 20$! I'm so proud I might cry!

First Day of School
Today was Nick's first day of Pre-School. I'm happy for him and sad for me. Last year he went to a 3 day program. I was working in the same building so I was able to see him at recess everyday. This year he is at a new school 4 days a week. I was so bored for 3 hours I actually cleaned!
He had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back tomorrow. We also had our annual first day of school ice cream after I picked him up. My heart sank a little when I realized every first day of school ice cream we have, means that my baby is growing up!
I guess I'm going to have to come up with some new hobbies to keep me busy maybe I'll try making the worlds largest lint ball;)
